ISLAMABAD:The Panama Leaks hearing resumed on Monday headed by a five-member bench led by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa.

Jamat-e-Islami’s counsel Taufeeq Asif continued his arguments. Earlier on Friday, the counsel had submitted a petition requesting the court to demand a copy of the prime minister’s speech in the parliament along with a copy of the documents regarding London flats. The prime minister had submitted the said documents to National Assembly speaker Ayaz Sadiq.

Prime minister’s lawyer Makhdoom Ali Khan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyer Naeem Bukhari completed their arguments.

Justice Khosa said that judges asked questions during the proceedings to understand the case and these questions should not be perceived as remarks.

Outside the Supreme Court, Awami Muslim League Chief Sheikh Rasheed, while talking to media, said that the Panama Leaks case had become a white elephant.

Moreover, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said that if the judges desired to have press conferences stopped outside the court, then live streaming of the case proceedings should be allowed. Chaudhry added that this was necessary because as a political party, they had a duty to inform voters of what transpired inside the court.

Speaking to the media, PML-N leader Daniyal Aziz said that Imran Khan had introduced a culture of abuse in politics.

PML-N leader Maiza Hameed said that there exited discrepancies in what Imran Khan told the media and what he told the court.

Meanwhile, in a rally held in Kasur on Sunday, Imran Khan said that Nawaz Sharif would not be allowed to go scot-free in the Panama Leaks case.
