ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan announced on Thursday t
hat the party does not want a commission to investigate the Panamaga
te case that aims to hold Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif accountable forthe assetshe and his family owns.
Instead, Khan expressed a preference for the Supreme Court (SC) to continue hearing the case. “We do not want a commission to investigate the corruption in the Sharif family,” Khan told media persons.
After the top PTI leadership brainstormedinto the suggestion of an inquiry commission conducting the probe, Khan said. A unanimousdecision was reached t

no need for any inquiry commission so the PTI leaders requested the apex court to deliver the verdict on petitions regarding Panamaga
te case.

quo;Only one person said that a commission may be instituted provided that Nawaz Sharif quits his office,” the PTI chief said.
Khan claimed that Nawaz lost the case in the last hearing as his counsel – in response to a judges’ query – revealed t
hat there were no documents available with them to prove their stance.
Imran questioned as to how the commission would yield results when all the state institutions were working under the accused. “Nawaz will not resign as a result of the commission’s findings,” he added.
Referring to the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) airplane crash, the PTI chairman said t
hat the incident called for attention to improving the standards of the national flag carrier.
“PIA’s safety record is not very encouraging and we need to conduct an inquiry of the incident besides taking steps to avoid such mish
aps,” Imran maintained.
